I spend so much time on the fortunes of the progressive left and other sane Americans that I neglect our MAGA brothers and sisters. And MAGA wants it to be known: they are either brothers or sisters, none of this koo-koo crazy gender spaghetti.

House Republicans Set Record

36 House Republicans have announced they will not seek re-election. This is the highest number of Republican refuseniks since………forever.

When asked why so many are splitting one House member (who asked to remain anonymous) opined, “Are you kidding? Have you ever seen a tsunami? Check out a video of the 2011 Tõhuku tsunami. It’s bad, man. It’s really bad. It’s not like we’re senators. We’re one of 435. We don’t get on Sunday talk shows or cool podcasts. Do you have a podcast? Cuz I’m game. And to be in the minority by.a margin that will last for years? That’s hell, even if Mike Johnson is booted. Have you met Jim Jordan?”

Some Republicans have expressed concern about this district that has a PVI of R +7. Should be no problem except personal qualities of candidates can upset the partisan bias.

Incumbent Tony Gonzalez lost the first round to Brandon Herrera, a firearms manufacturer and YouTuber who calls himself “the AK guy.” I’ll say this for him - he will never be called soft on the second amendment.

The two competed for the nomination in ‘24 when Gonzales held on to his seat by 1%. But he was in a difficult position this year when it was revealed that he had promoted and pressured a married staffer into a sexual relationship. A year after the affair ended and shortly after her husband found about the affair she immolated herself in her backyard in Uvalde.

Yes, Uvalde, the site of a horrendous school shooting in 2022, is in the district where the AK guy is the Republican nominee. Although a red-leaning district, Dem nominee Katy Padilla-Stout, an attorney and former schoolteacher, may be able to win against AK Man if she has the funds for a strong campaign. Herrera raised 880K for the primary and spent it all. Padilla-Stout raised only 44K and spent that. They start off even. Katy for Congress

Lynch Law

Israel’s parliament has passed a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of fatal attacks in the West Bank, a measure sharply criticised as discriminatory by European countries and rights groups.

The legislation makes the death penalty the default punishment for Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank found guilty of intentionally carrying out deadly attacks deemed acts of terrorism by a military court.

Those sentenced to death will be held in a separate facility with no visits except from authorised personnel, with legal consultations conducted only by video link. Executions will be carried out within 90 days of sentencing. The Guardian, 3/30/26

Yeah, OK, mistakes will be made but we’ve got to keep Bibi out of prison.

We can quibble but Israel remains the only democracy in the Middle East! and the only nation whose future development will bring on the second coming.

Trouble in MAGA-Land

Megyn Kelly has been getting some publicity by criticizing the war and feuding with ultra-conservatve, pro-Israel Mark Levin, who has a syndicated radio program and hosts “Life, Liberty and Levin” on Fox. Levin trashed Kelly for a muted critique of the war. Kelly fired back by saying Levin ran to Daddy Trump because he’s weak and has a micropenis.

Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is not going way, quietly or otherwise. A critic of the Israel/U.S. war on Iran as a betrayal of America First, MTG wrote on X:

“I wholeheartedly support Megyn Kelly telling the world that Mark Levin has a micropenis. It’s the most deserved insult, and I don’t care if it’s vulgar. And Trump’s gigantic defense of Levin only enraged the base more. People are DONE. MAGA destroyed by micropenis Mark Levin.”

A deserved insult? Does she have the inside dope? If not, how is it well-deserved? And given the penile dysmorphia experienced by many men, especially MAGA men, I don’t think this is an anti-war statement. They go to war to display their swingin’ dick personas.
